We recently moved our daughter into her room with her very own big girl bed. It gave us a brilliant opportunity to update her room too.  We picked a “woodland” theme.

Above her bed we got a canvas made of my favourite photo of her – her ‘flying’ in the rape seed last summer. On the wall next to her curtains are some home made owls, homemade by my mother in law. The cute owl cushion is from Sass and Belle.

We put up two floating white shelves to add bits and pieces. These Ingela P Arrhenius owl nesting dolls were from The Kid Who and we bought the little toadstool night light from Not On The High Street.

The little owl paper lantern was from a family friend. We chose a wardrobe from Next which had four inbuilt shelves, so we styled them with cute pieces of themed homeware.

On the next shelf we bought a big toadstool from the Jools Oliver for Mothercare range, it is meant to be a doorstop but we thought it looked nice next to the very hungry caterpillar!

The wall sticker was from Enchanted Interiors. I love how it goes with the rest of the room to create a space that’s not too girly or pink, but still cute for a toddler.

What do you think? Where are your favourite places to find unique, cute and stylish items for a child’s bedroom, nursery or playroom?
